Two questions:

1. What does reputation points do for me?

2. Is there a way to see who has given points? Right now all I can tell is when it happened, what thread it was for and the comments they leave behind. However, it does show who posted the comments or gave me the points.

Calm down fingers! Reputation is either "good rep" green or "bad rep" blue

Vbull in their wisdom decided that to stop WW3 breaking out users shouldn't see who gave bad rep.

FA has asked vbull to see if we can let users see who gave the good rep and yes, I have given you good rep before now!

I now have 2 green and 2 blue, with 30 points indicated. I can't imagine why anyone would give me a "bad", especially when one comment is blank and the other one "Simply, WOW!".

Does something happen when one has collected enough points? Like an evening with one of our Lady Stars at the GGG studio?

OK, I understand that, but of what use is "reputation" here?

Does something happen when one gets, say, 100 "reputation" points, or 1000, or whatever?

I often see people begging for "reputation", but it's not clear why. Is it just vanity? If not, what?

(This should all be explained in a sticky thread somewhere. Maybe it is, but I haven't seen it yet.)

Where are you guys finding these "points?" I've never seen any points, or any blue marks for that matter. Looks like a real can of worms has been opened up here.

Click on the words User CP near top left. (Might be better if it was labeled User Profile or at least something less cryptic than CP.)

If you don't see the words Latest Reputation Received somewhere there, then you haven't received any. (There's an Infractions feature as well, by the way.)

There's no mystery about the display, but I'd just like to know what the points are for.
