My advice is make the leap and learn how to use TMPGEnc Xpress. Then you will be able to edit anything.

Failing that and if you run windows the Windows Movie Maker is a good tool.

Hmmm...i have tested both but they are not exactly what i'm looking for. Isn't there any freeware who can cut wmv & mp4 files without recompression etc. (like virtualmod dies for avis)?

People who use the TMP program swear by it and I have heard it's the best out there. I have yet to learn it myself but plan on doing that. In the meantime I use boilsoft video splitter and also format factory. Format factory is free and although it's used primarily to change formats you can also use it to edit. One thing though it isn't really that precise in my opinion.

    Thumbs up

As Shape says FormatFactory can be used to edit video files but it has two drawbacks, first you can't edit files "on the fly" and also depending where it is on a particular frame you don't always get the cut you want.
You can still get that problem occasionally with Boilsoft but not nearly as much.
With TMPGEnc you will always get a clean cut but as it is a video mastering tool you will have to convert the clip.

I use a combination of all 3 and use them to suit.
Whatever you eventually opt for, remember mate the torrents are your friends
